DONE DONE DONE!!!!

So, if you didn't get the message...I'm DONE! School is over and I graduate Saturday!!!! Tons of hugs and kisses to everyone who has sent me notes, cards, gifts, and done any type of service for me! You all rock!

It was actually kind of hard to leave my 5th grade classroom. They were just so loving and caring and made me feel like a million bucks!

You wanna know the reason I want to be an educator? Here it is:

So, about two weeks ago I gave my 5th graders a survey on my performance in their classroom. They all rated me really well and gave me great feedback. One of the questions was: What do you like most about your student teacher? My most cherished answer and the reason I can do this for the rest of my life was: "She made me feel like I wasn't invisible."

What a tribute. There is no greater career than this. A career that allows you to make a difference even when you don't know it.

It's my last week!!!!!

I am so SUPER excited!!!! Today is my last Monday of school!!!! Tomorrow will be my last Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday...LOL! I can't believe I graduate next Saturday! It's completely unreal!

I can't wait to be at home with Gideon using the skills I learned in school to teach my son effectively! What a wonderful blessing! There's nothing better than being a mommy...except maybe being a mommy and a teacher!

It did take me a little longer than expected, but I'm still proud of being able to do it in 3 1/2 years! Hooray!

Hope you are all doing well!

I am early today...

Well, I got to school pretty early today so I don't have anything left to do until 8:30!!! So, I thought I would update everyone!

Colin is doing really well in school. He just got the second highest grade in class on one exam... he didn't even study. *sigh* to be that smart....

Gideon is doing potty training! Haha! He is 18 months old now and absolutely loves the potty! He has been successful twice! It is really wonderful to see him grow!

I have just been student teaching and thinking about what I am going to do with myself after I graduate. 5th grade is going really well, so I don't have much to report! LOL!

We are growing a garden this year and Gideon absolutely loves it! He is always outside raking the dirt in the planter and helping his daddy. They are so cute together!

Well, that's it for today's update! I will try to be better about posting! Just wait until I don't have school anymore, right?

AGGIES ARE WAC CHAMPS...AGAIN!

On a very sad note...tonight was my last Men's Aggie Basketball game as a student. It's weird to think I've been here for four years already. *sigh* Time sure does fly...

On an amazingly happy, can't wait to tell you about it note: We WON!!! Being a part of the Spectrum is such an amazing feeling! I know that people think we're totally rude and that we should be ashamed of ourselves...yadda, yadda, yadda... I can't imagine better fans than USU fans!!!! Our crowd does more than shout jeers at the other team, we help OUR team WIN! Don't believe me? Just look at our home win record. I am proud to be an Aggie and can't wait to see how they do at the WAC tourney!!!!

GO AGGIES!!!!!

Block I Has Ended!

Well, I've survived my first block of student teaching!!!! I am very happy about the way it all went. Third grade was a fun place to start out and I really think I made a difference in their learning. It was so cute because today I saw a whole bunch of my third-graders and they all came over and hugged me and told me they missed me :( I miss them, too!
So, I started 5th grade today! I didn't spend much time talking to them because I was busy doing other things, but I think it will still be fun!
That's about it for updates. It seems like our lives are just school, school, school lately. Oh well, we're almost done for good!

Happy 25th Colin!

Colin celebrated his quarter of a century birthday yesterday! We didn't do too much because I didn't get home from school until quarter to 6, but I did make him wild rice-stuffed steaks for dinner. Gideon colored a card for daddy and graciously gave it to him without trying to yank it away as Colin reached for it...they're so funny.

We are planning on dinner and a movie tomorrow so we can celebrate properly. Oh yeah, we need to do presents tomorrow too! I better get those wrapped...

Boy oh boy, I have no time for anything anymore! Student teaching is very busy! not too difficult, just busy!

Christmas, School, you know...

Hey family, friends, people who are just browsing blogs...

Welcome to 2010! Oh my gosh! The last year in the first decade of a new century, millenium, etc! I cannot believe it! I just know that once I'm an old lady people are going to be asking me about the early 2000s and I'm actually going to be able to answer... Ugh! LOL!

Anyways... so I haven't blogged since early in December because I have had a really big secret that I wasn't able to share with anyone until after Christmas...Colin and I surprised his Mom by taking our family to Maryland for two weeks. We showed up two days before Christmas and stayed until after the new year! It was a very memorable time and a very fun time, too! It was fun to share some of my Christmas traditions with Colin's family and I even shared one of my favorite games that I used to play with my Grandpa Petersen: DIMES! JSYK, it's one of the Cook family's favorite games now!

As for the new year, Colin and I are back in school. I am really enjoying student teaching...SERIOUSLY! I can't really say much about it at this point seeing as how it's only been a week, but it is way fun! Colin has taken the role of house-husband when he isn't at school extremely well. Right now he's cleaning the bathrooms and doing laundry...I KNOW! I can't believe it either! It's actually pretty cute.

So, that is why I haven't posted. I just knew I was going to let it slip and someone was going to tell Lauren and then everything would have been ruined! I'm terrible with secrets!

Anyway, I hope you are all doing very well and that your 2010 is filled with life, laughter, and love! Corny, I know!
